Company history

Since 1882, the neo-baroque palace building of the Grand Casino Luzern has been enthroned on the shores of Lake Lucerne. The picturesque location, impressive architecture and stylish furnishings made the architectural bijou a place of encounter and entertainment even back then.

The former Kursaal

The former Kursaal was built in the city of Lucerne in 1882. The neo-baroque palace building, based entirely on the architectural model of the French Renaissance, has always characterized the shores of Lake Lucerne.

Neo-Baroque architectural style

The neo-baroque style of the building can be found in all rooms. This has been preserved to this day, contrasting Lucerne's diverse past with the modern lifestyle of the present.

Today's Olivo restaurant

The former dining room now enchants the guests of Restaurant Olivo with its splendor. The chandelier has been preserved ever since and gloriously adorns the ceilings of the fine dining restaurant.

Today's Dolce Vita restaurant

The basic idea of a terrace restaurant, and thus culinary enjoyment directly on Lucerne's lakeside promenade, has existed since the beginning and has enjoyed great popularity then as it does today. Together with enjoyable moments, today's Restaurant Dolce Vita creates a place to relax and linger - in keeping with the credo "Enjoyment by the lake".

Today's Casineum

The Casineum is still reminiscent of its original form, the former theater hall. The beautiful stucco work adorns the façades as it did over 100 years ago and conjures up this unique ambience in the room.

The current building

The picturesque location on the shores of Lake Lucerne and the stylish furnishings throughout make the Grand Casino Luzern a special place to this day. Today, the magnificent interiors house the gaming area, the Olivo gourmet restaurant and the Casineum, the Mirror Salon and the Panorama Hall - and offer visitors exciting entertainment in a stylish atmosphere at its finest.

Kursaal building

The Kursaal building is being built on the French model by a Parisian company (SA Immobilière de Lucerne) and opens its doors directly on Lake Lucerne.
