Allotria Jazz Band

"The Fine Notes Of Classic Jazz" - that has been the specialty of this Munich jazz band for almost 50 years. Seven excellent musicians play compositions from the 20s and 30s in the styles of Dixieland and swing. The sound of the ALLOTRIA JAZZ BAND has always been something special. The front line with four wind instruments, two of them trumpets, clearly stands out from most of today's traditional jazz bands. This special line-up makes it sound like a small big band.

With a mixture of well-known standards and rarely played titles, the band always has a musical surprise in store. The arrangements of compositions by Scott Joplin, "Jelly Roll" Morton, Louis Armstrong, "Fats" Waller, "Duke" Ellington, Benny Goodman and others, are mainly written by Colin Dawson and Rainer Sander and have their own signature style.

"Allotria" is not really a name, but a group of seven musicians who always have fun with music and are always up for a joke!
