The MARTIN AUER QUINTETT has developed its own band sound from various jazz styles such as modern jazz, mainstream and contemporary jazz. The music performed by the band is rich in contrast; an interplay ranging from beguilingly restrained to emotionally intense. Their repertoire consists of original compositions and artfully arranged jazz classics. The quintet's journey back through jazz history ultimately led them to Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong's "Hot 5". They went into the studio for the first time in 1925 and made their first recordings. The MAQ, founded in 1995, is now celebrating 2025 twice: with their reinterpretations of these legendary pieces of music "100 years Hot 5" and at the same time "30 years Martin Auer 5"!
All band members are art prize winners or lecturers at universities of applied sciences. The high-quality quintet performs fine jazz, consisting of virtuoso playing, sophisticated solos and precise, sensitive interplay. An ideal fusion of technique and creative will, which proves that Jazz tradition offers sufficient room for development. The "Martin Auer Quintett" proves that it knows how to use it!
Tickets are available on site from 60 minutes before the start of the event.
