Soul Chemistry

It's fair to say that when two musicians have been working together successfully for 25 years, the chemistry between them must be right! The Swiss drummer JORIS DUDLI and the American alto saxophonist VINCENT HERRING are impressive proof of their musical affinity. Their joint project "SOUL CHEMISTRY" presents varied, groovy jazz in the style of Art Blakey's "Messengers". Ingredients such as shuffle, bop, swing, blues and soul are mixed into a dangerously explosive substance.

Drummer Dudli and bassist IGNASI GONZALES lay the perfect foundation for the soloists. Dudli's groovy playing and Gonzales' gripping, powerful bass playing create an incredible drive. The rhythm section is complemented by URS HAGER. The "Young Lion" from Germany on the piano is a virtuoso soloist and an incredibly swinging accompanist. Vincent Herring on alto saxophone and the New York-based Japanese ERENA TERAKUBO, also on alto, move skilfully over this groove carpet. Both know how to convince with their independent sound, their vitality and their emotional playing.
