The Swiss quartet SWING DE PARIS was founded in 2005. When it was founded, the formation played exclusively jazz manouche and gypsy, strongly influenced and shaped by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Over the years, the group became more and more open to other styles. Pearls from the heyday of the American swing era and original compositions are now also on the program.
The repertoire is very varied. In addition to the authentic up-tempo gipsy swing, ballads, tango, waltzes and jazz swing are also presented. The special thing about the formation "Swing de Paris" is that the drummer DAVID BEGLINGER drums and sings at the same time in a sovereign manner.
The four band members are very well attuned to each other thanks to countless performances. They sound homogeneous, like a single instrument. Each member has their solo moments, but none of them is ever too dominant. Even after so many years of playing together, the joy of playing is undiminished and the music remains fresh and lively.
