Lucerne composer and pianist LUZIA VON WYL loves nature. The mountain world with its contrasts, sometimes sunny and gentle, sometimes rugged and rough, move, fascinate and inspire the musician. She succeeds brilliantly in transforming these images, colors and moods into her own musical sound palette. She skillfully juggles different styles of music. Elements of classical music, world music, folk music and jazz are combined to create an exciting picture. The composer uses unusual instruments such as bassoon, marimba and strings as colors. Lyrical, originally orchestrated soundscapes, wonderful melody lines alternate with concise grooves or unusual rhythms. Free space for improvisation rounds off the spectrum of the compositions' color palette.
