In 1882, the former Kursaal, now the Grand Casino Lucerne, was created in the city of Lucerne, then as now a place of meeting and entertainment.
During the first heyday of tourism in Lucerne, the Kursaal was opened in 1882. Pleasure seekers, nature lovers and romantics were the first enthusiastic guests in the magnificent building. Theater, concerts, dance, variété, folklore, gastronomy, games and entertainment characterized the long history of the Kursaal, which was always surrounded by a touch of cosmopolitan flair. To this day, the Grand Casino Lucerne is a place of encounter and pleasure and worth a visit in fair weather as well as in bad.
